NUFC - Membership Ballot changes

In our last monthly meeting with NUFC, dated Monday 14 October, we pushed the club to amend the timings of the membership ballot and subsequent seat selection process.

Through member feedback, it was clear that it was necessary for the club to hold the ballots during box office hours, primarily to negate people losing their seats were they to be encountering technical issues.

Furthermore, we communicated that there were regular timing issues with the sale of away tickets, which subsequently found supporters becoming stuck in home ballot queues online when trying to purchase away tickets.

With this in mind, we are delighted that the club have released an amendment to the timing of home ballots to ensure these issues are addressed.

You can read the club announcement here.

Newcastle United to implement consistent ticketing timelines

Following consultation with the Newcastle United Supporters Trust, Newcastle United has made adjustments to ticket sales and the ballot system timelines for both home and away fixtures, ensuring consistency and minimising scheduling conflicts.

All ticket sales will now take place during regular Box Office opening hours (Monday to Friday 10.00am – 5.00pm) to provide support for those who may have difficulty purchasing online.

On average nearly 95% of ballot applications are done within the first 24 hours of the ballot being open.

As part of this change, the ballot opening time will be shortened from 48 hours to 24 hours to make this possible, while the purchasing window will remain at 48 hours.

Newcastle United home fixtures

For Premier League home fixtures the below schedule will be in place in the build up:
Monday 12pm – Members ballot opens.
Tuesday 12pm – Members ballot closes (reduced from current 48 hours period to 24 hour window)
Wednesday 10am – Members ballot results to be sent out via email.
Wednesday 12pm – Members seat selection window opens.
Friday 12pm – Members ballot seat selection window closes.
Friday 4pm – Ticket resale opens (2024/25 Season ticket holders eligible to put their ticket up for resale)
Monday 10am – Members general sale.

All ballot opening and closing times will be at midday and then general sales will be at 10am to avoid conflicts and also to avoid clashes with away tickets at 2pm.

Newcastle United away fixtures

All away fixtures will go on sale at 2.00pm approximately four weeks prior to each fixture subject to confirmation of fixture date and time as well as information provided from the home club. Once on sale points will drop every 24 hours dependant on availability.

Once the fixture has sold out via the loyalty points system the away ticket ballot will open for 24 hours for those supporters with less loyalty points than the fixture sold out.

NUST would like to go on record to thank NUFC for listening to our members' feedback, subsequent Board suggestions and implementing the necessary changes to ensure the process is as easy as possible for supporters.
