Board Elections: Join The Board

Over the course of 2019, membership has increased to almost 10,000, making NUST one of the largest Supporters Trusts in the country. Given the large increase in membership, the Trust Board have decided it is appropriate for its Board elections, originally due to take place in 2020, to be brought forward.

This gives an opportunity for members to step forward and take a greater role in shaping NUST’s future by standing for election to the NUST Board. It also offers members who do not wish to stand for the Board, an opportunity to vote for those they feel better able to take on the role of Board member.

All but three of the current Board members have stood down from their roles and four Board positions are available to members who wish to take on a more active role within NUST.

We would strongly encourage members to get involved by either standing for election or choosing their preferred candidates.

With that in mind please see details of the election process below;

Period: Today-Tuesday 1st October 2019

Members to register their interest in standing for a position on the NUST Board by downloading a nomination form from the NUST website , to be completed and returned to the Independent Chair of the Election Management Group Neil Le Milliere at [email protected]

Period: Wednesday 2nd October 2019 -Wednesday 16th October 2019.

Members to confirm their interest in standing for a position on the NUST Board together with a statement in support of their nomination (which should be between 400 and 1000 words)to be completed and sent to the Independent Chair (detailed above) at [email protected]

Period: Thursday 17th October 2019 -Wednesday 30th October 2019.

Members to vote either online or by post for their preferred candidates(further details in respect of this process will follow)

Date: Friday 1st November 2019

Special General Meeting to announce the results of the election (further details of venue and time to follow).
